The Practice of More Gratitude

What do people give me that I just take for granted? That is my personal question of the day . Do you have personal questions of the day? It fuels my already thoughtful mind to focus and reflect. After finishing the book, Hearts on Fire by Voice of the Martyrs , just yesterday, that evening as I reached for the toothpaste to brush my teeth before bed, I thought, "oh this is a luxury to have toothpaste and toothbrush not once but twice daily!" It is so easy to not recognize what God has given us. I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you.”

Question of the Day

The Lord reminds us endlessly in scripture to reflect on His character and His deeds. That is what all of Psalm 77 is about, ephasized in verses 11-14: "I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your wonders of old. I will ponder all your work, and meditate on your mighty deeds. Your way, O God, is holy. What god is great like our God? You are the God who works wonders; you have made known your might among the peoples." 1. What do other people give me that I take for granted? 2. What makes me feel safe? 3. What did I risk today? 4. What did I choose not to do today? 5. If I was invisible, what would I do? 6. Where did I express my gratitude today? 7. What did I repent of today? 8. Who can I bless and how? 9. Who is in my circle of influence? Who should be added or removed from it? 10. What is the least helful thing I do on a daily basis? *Note this post will continue to be added to.
